Science Adventurers: Electricity and Circuits
We love snap circuits * to practice this concepts.
"we’re going to talk about how electricity flows through circuits and how it can make light, heat, or sound. But first, let’s start with a Bible verse.”
He pulled out his Bible and read: “James 1:17 — ‘Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights.’ Electricity is one of those good gifts—it helps us cook, see in the dark, and listen to music.”
Liam tilted his head. “So, what exactly is electricity, Drexel?”
“Great question!” Drexel said. “Electricity is a form of energy made by the movement of tiny things called electrons. Think of it like invisible energy flowing through wires, kind of like water flows through a hose.”
“Here’s an easy experiment you can try at home with a grown-up,” Drexel added. “You’ll need a D battery, a light bulb, and two wires. Connect one end of each wire to the battery, then connect the other ends to the bottom and side of the light bulb. If the bulb lights up, you’ve made a closed circuit! Just remember that we use batteries for our experiments because it is safer. Never experiment with the electricity in your house. Leave that to the professionals!”
